Shane Lynch Wins!
Boyzone band member Shane Lynch came away from Donington yesterday with a win and a 3rd after a busy day for the AmD race team.
He said: “My passion is cars. I was a car mechanic before I joined the band and even though Boyzone is in the middle of a reunion tour, I make the time to come to places like Donington to race."
Lynch came 3rd in the first race, despite being swiped by another competitor at the start but a win in the 30 minute feature race later in the day really showed he has driving talent by beating championship pace-setter Leyton Clarke.
AmD'S Shaun Hollamby had a non-finish in race 1, after a collision with a works Vauxhall, but came good in race 2 with 3rd place. This has dropped him to 3rd place in the overall points standings but still in with a shout of championship honours as the championship heads to Brands Hatch on Bank Holiday Monday August 25th.
